Dolly Parton Imagination Library

The Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is a 60 volume set of books beginning with the children's classic:  The Little Engine That Could.  Each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in your child's name directly to their home.  Best of all, it is a FREE GIFT!  There is no obligation to your family.

In July 2019, we introduced Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to Pettis County. Since that time, the number of children enrolled in the program has grown substantially! From July 2019- Dec 2023, United Way of Pettis County covered the expense for children who physically reside in Pettis County under the age of 5 because we understand that giving children access to books allows for supported cognitive development, improved language skills, preparation for academic success, increased concentration, and improved imagination and creativity.

As of 2024, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library expanded to encompass all of Missouri. The Missouri Imagination Library was made possible by legislation (Section 178.694 RSMo) that identifies school districts, including Sedalia School District 200, as the local partner for this initiative. There is NO COST for the books or the postage to deliver them. United Way of Pettis County is teaming up with Sedalia 200 to manage and promote the program locally.
